Synopsis
‘Shifting Dreams’ is the story of Caroline Ciavaldini’s move from world class competition climber to trad climber and Alpinist. The film takes a look at Caroline’s early years and her intense commitment to competition climbing, her all consuming focus on winning and how the death of her mother led to her seeking changes in her life. The film follows Caroline as she attempts to climb the historic ‘Voie Petit’ on the Grand Capucin, a 400 metre high granite spire in the Mont-Blanc Massif. The film explores the history of the route, the bond between climbing partners and provides an insight in to what it takes to climb the hardest high altitude rock climb in the Alps.
