Synopsis

Ellis Park follows acclaimed Australian multi‑instrumentalist Warren Ellis (of The Dirty Three and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds) as he guides viewers through his world and one very special animal sanctuary in the forests of Sumatra, Indonesia. Co‑founded with conservationist Femke den Haas, the sanctuary rescues trafficked and mistreated animals and devotes years to nursing them back to health. This fly‑on‑the‑wall documentary offers a deeply personal insight into one artist’s life — from his music and creativity to his commitment to compassionate work — and serves as an inspiring reminder of how much can be achieved when passionate people come together to make a positive impact. AACTA Awards – Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards 2026.
