Synopsis
Corners of the Earth – Kamchatka follows filmmakers Spencer Frost and Guy Williment alongside surfers Letty Mortenson and Fraser Dovell as they travel to the remote Kamchatka Peninsula in far-eastern Russia in search of unexplored waves along its frozen coastline. Bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Okhotsk, Kamchatka is one of the most isolated surf destinations on Earth, with over 150 volcanoes and vast untouched coastline. After two years of planning, the crew departs just as Russia invades Ukraine, forcing them to confront difficult decisions while continuing their expedition into one of the world’s harshest environments. Using helicopters, snowmobiles, and winter camps, the team spends weeks exploring the icy wilderness in search of new surf breaks—testing endurance, friendship, and the limits of cold-water surfing. Best Film – London Surf Film Festival 2023. Surf Film of the Year – Surf Film Awards 2023. Official Selection 2025: VIMFF. Official Selection 2024: San Diego Surf Film Festival. Official Selections 2023: Newport Beach Film Festival, Ocean Film Festival, Portuguese Surf Film Festival.
