Synopsis

It is a challenge that borders on madness: bringing Thomas Vergnet — a paraplegic adaptive skier using a sit-ski — to the summit of Mont Blanc. From this seemingly impossible idea, the Adventure Beyond the Summit was born. The project is led by Wadeck Gorak, supported by a team of seasoned mountain professionals. Together, they devise solutions to every obstacle: rope systems, energy management, route selection, exposed sections, shifting weather, equipment issues, paragliding, glacier travel… Each difficulty becomes another step toward the goal. The journey begins in the Ubaye mountains, where the team shapes its approach: learning, understanding, adapting, progressing, climbing, descending, starting over. Then comes the transition to high altitude — skiing among seracs and steep couloirs with a sit-ski, where everything appears beyond reach. This film tells the story of a collective driven by human strength, friendship, conviction, and determination. An adventure filled with laughter, fear, falls, emotion, wonder, and suspended moments.
