Synopsis

Filmed over 8 years, Director Maellyn Macintosh sets off on an epic journey to understand what unites all indigenous cultures through their tattooing practices. From the tattooed women of the Indian jungle, to shapeshifting shamans, and tattoos that give supernatural power and protection, this is also a personal journey for her as she receives her own tattoos and begins to understand what is at the core of some of the oldest known tattooing traditions.
