Synopsis

The life, hopes and dreams of kids and their BMX coach trainer in a South African township (Kayamandi), waiting for competition day. Throughout the process they will learn much more than just how to pedal. Kayamandi is a suburb of Stellenbosch in the Western Cape province of South Africa located off route R304. The name means “nice home” in the Xhosa language. The director follows the children of Songo and shows the daily struggle of young people in the ghetto who are trying to stay on the right track thanks to their passion for BMX and a coach who has cares deeply for the boys way past the results of the competitions. In the context of a South African ghetto with the apartheid and racial segregation there is a small light that radiates hope.
