Synopsis

In a homage to Canadian mountaineering history, a group of amateur climbers embarks on a daring re-enactment of Conrad Kain’s legendary 1916 ascent of Bugaboo Spire. Equipped solely with gear from the early 1900s, including wooden ice axes and vintage wool clothing, they face the elements with historic accuracy. Battling rain-soaked tents and malfunctioning stoves, they trace Kain’s footsteps up the 10,500-foot peak. But when antique equipment proves insufficient against modern challenges, they reluctantly switch to contemporary gear for a final push. With time against them and the summit within reach, only two climbers succeed, underscoring the awe-inspiring feat achieved a century ago.
