Synopsis

‘Between Two Harbors – We Are Ocean’ – A documentary revealing the restorative and healing powers of nature. This documentary sought to empower those with cancer through ocean healing. We Are Ocean participants, many of whom were fearful of the ocean or water, were taken outside of their comfort zones to try restorative Yoga, Surfing, SUP, Outrigger Canoeing, Kayaking, Sailing, Swimming, Snorkeling, Fishing, Ocean Safety and Ocean Navigation. They have the opportunity to connect with other cancer patients / survivors, share their experiences, and fully engage in the healing process. While experiencing life in, on, and under the water after cancer, paticipants will leave the island with all they need to live and maintain a healthy, active, lifestyle post-treatment. We Are Ocean founder Jack Marshall-Shimko, a cancer survivor himself, started the charity not only to introduce the healing effects of the ocean to cancer patients and survivors, but to also spread awareness of the importance of living a healthy and active lifestyle while fighting cancer and beyond.
