Synopsis

Altered Focus: Burma follows three film makers and skateboarders, as they travel across Burma’s Yangon and Mandalay regions amidst heightened political tension in the country which was at the time closed to foreign journalists. The film explores the reactions of the local people and the protagonists as two very different cultures meet. This unique and refreshing account of cultural exchange is set against a back ground of secret police and elections in country in which the youth seem to be crying out for means of expression such as skateboarding.
